FIELD: mechanical engineering; diesel engines. SUBSTANCE: diesel engine has piston with combustion chamber, cylinder, head with nozzle installed at angle relative to axis of combustion chamber. Nozzle has multiple-jet spray tip with orifices of first and second groups made in one plane of spray tip body with axes intersecting at angle and with common outlet. Inlet edges 13 of orifices 11 are made on surface of well, and those of orifices 12, on shutoff surface of body. Atomizing orifices with smaller angle of intersection are pointed to farthest surfaces of combustion chamber and those with larger angle of intersection, onto nearest surfaces. Invention contains description of two design versions of spray tip. Jets of fuel with smaller angles of intersection of axes of orifices 11 and 12 of first and second groups are oriented to farthest surfaces, and jets with larger angles of intersection, onto nearest surfaces. EFFECT: improved performance characteristics of diesel engine, improved uniformity of fuel atomizing on to farthest and nearest surfaces of combustion chamber with correction of direction of fuel jets depending on operation of diesel engine. 3 cl, 5 dwg
