FIELD: recovery of precious metals. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to isolation of precious metals both with their high and low concentrations in solutions and may be applied both by itself and in an integrate process chain with known methods of isolation of precious and other strategically important metals. It may as well be used in system of treatment and neutralization of process wastes(including radioactive ones) and waste water. Method consists in that, in a process including agitation of initial solution in presence of reducing agent followed by selectively separating resultant metal-containing product from solution, agitation of initial solution in presence of reducing agent is conducted at constant temperature under imposed laser emission with frequency corresponding to resonance excitement frequency of metal ions being isolated. Installation is constructed on the basis of centrifugal extractor and provided with variable-emission frequency laser system. Extractor has a window made of material transparent for infra-red, visible, and ultra-violet wavelength regions to pass laser beam into mixing chamber. Method ensures isolation of metals from solutions with metal concentrations below 1 mg/l. Metals are isolated either in neutral state or as solid salts from solutions with acidity four times as high as permissible solution acidity level for conventional chemical procedures, including those conducted with heating.
