FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method can be used for producing refined palladium from a platinum-palladium chloride solution. The platinum-palladium solution is treated with an oxidiser to a redox potential value of 800 to 900 mV relative to the silver chloride electrode. Platinum salt is deposited with an ammonium chloride solution, and palladium is subjected to refining. In the process of refining palladium, the solution from platinum deposition is subjected to ammonia treatment to a pH value of 6 to 8.5 at a temperature of 70 to 90°C, adding a reducing agent and/or a sulphidiser at a 1 to 10-fold excess consumption rate compared to the one stoichiometrically necessary for platinum reduction. The resulting pulp is filtered in a hot state, the deposition is washed with water, the filtered solution is acidified with hydrochloric acid to a pH value of 0.1 to 3 and cooled to a temperature of 30 to 50°C in order to form a diamminedichloropalladium deposition, followed by filtration thereof. The filtered diamminedichloropalladium is optionally repulped with distilled water at a temperature of 80 to 90°C at L:S=1 to 3 for 0.5 to 2 hours, followed by filtration.

EFFECT: method allows for an increase in the quality of palladium salt (palladous amine) suitable for producing refined metal due to the reduction of the platinum content therein.
