FIELD: driving of motor transport facilities in darkness hours. SUBSTANCE: the device uses liquid crystal electrooptical shutters on the basis of the twist-effect, photodetector, amplifier, power source. If photodetector illuminance exceeds the threshold value (1.4 to 2 lx), the electrooptical shutters get closed, the brightness of head-lamps of the transport coming from the opposite direction perceived by the driver's eyes is reduced by 5 to 40 times. To increase the passage of the lower beam, the width of the first polarizer or transparent electrodes makes up 53 to 60% of the width of the liquid crystal cells, counting from the upper edge of the cells, and the principal axis of the second polarizer is directed perpendicularly to the plane of the roadway pavement. EFFECT: enhanced safety. 3 cl, 3 dwg, 2 tbl
