FIELD: thyratron-type, gaseous-discharge, cold-cathode, low-pressure switching devices. SUBSTANCE: device starter is mounted inside one of main electrodes and is made in the form of metal electrode which is essentially open-end shell insulated from the former and arranged coaxially to it, with its open end facing holes in main electrodes of device. Insulated from shell and placed outside it is hollow metal electrode whose inner side wall is equidistant to internal electrode wall of starter and is spaced from it at distance of several millimeters. Holes are made in mentioned adjacent electrode walls, and additionally introduced high-melting metal rod is placed along starter internal electrode axis on closed end of electrode. Loose end of rod is rounded off and shifted towards holes in ends of main electrodes from point of intersection of center lines of holes in main electrodes of device and those of holes in starter electrodes through distance smaller than radius of rounded-off end of rod. Internal electrode of starter has radial projections on closed end which enter its inner space through slits in inner wall of external electrode. EFFECT: improved design. 5 cl, 5 dwg
