FIELD: medical engineering; instruments for urological examinations. SUBSTANCE: proposed apparatus comprises cylindrical vessel for urine collection, closing cover, float disposed inside vessel, and transducer adapted to convert float displacements into electric signal. Vessel cover is made light-impervious and adapted to carry light radiation sources and light-sensitive element of transducer, said light-sensitive element being connected with input of signal processing unit. Light-sensitive element is disposed at center of light-impervious cover, while light sources are disposed symmetrically around said element all along periphery of cover so as to rule out any possibility for incidence of direct light rays onto light-sensitive element. Upper plane of float is made of light-reflecting material, while inner surface of cylindrical vessel is made light-absorbing. Light-sensitive element is made in form of photodiode operative in IR-spectral region, while light radiation sources are made in form of light-emitting diodes adapted to operate in IR-spectral region and energized by pulsed generator.
