FIELD: measurement technology, remote monitoring of atmospheric pollution. SUBSTANCE: method includes active probing of examined zone by electromagnetic signal on resonance frequency of spectrum of absorption of sought-for gas of millimeter range of lengths of waves in interval 120.0-08313.0 GHz near line of absorption of water vapors in atmosphere. Parameters of sought-for gas are judged by degree of absorption of signal. In addition examined zone is subjected to action of reference signal on image frequency outside spectrum of absorption of sought-for gas and frequency of reference signal is chosen from spectrum of absorption of water vapor.
