FIELD: organomineral sorbents. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polymer anionite-based sorbents modified with ferric compounds, which can be utilized for removing toxic components from aqueous and gaseous media. Method includes saturating anionite with ferric ions, which process is carried out in saturated sodium chloride solution or with ferric chloride in 8-10 N hydrochloric acid. As anionites, slightly basic or strongly basic ones are used. Once saturation of anionite completed, iron hydroxide is precipitated in anionite pores via treatment thereof with alkali or ammonia solution. EFFECT: improved procedure. 1 tbl
