FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sorption purification of water from arsenic. Sorbent is proposed containing iron oxohydroxide on a carrier consisting of a mixture of foamed concrete and hematite. To get a sorbent the carrier is treated with 2% hydrochloric acid solution, impregnated with aqueous solution of iron salts followed by the addition of alkaline or ammonia solution. Sorbent is washed, dried and activated at 160°C. The obtained sorbent comprises (wt %): from 45 to 65 of iron oxyhydroxide, from 24 to 44 of foamed concrete, 11 of hematite.
EFFECT: invention provides a sorbent which is capable of removing arsenic from water ions of different valences.
