FIELD: building materials which are highly thermoinsulative and constructionally reliable and ecologically safe. SUBSTANCE: polystyrene concrete mixture comprises portland cement granules of improved suspension polystyrene, surfactant and water and also granular suspension polystyrene pretreated with surface active additive Foaming of polystyrene is carried out in admixture at fixed volume during simultaneous hydration of cement with live steam at temperature of from 95 to 105 C. Invention makes it possible to increase physical and chemical characteristics of the resulting products by 30-50% and to significantly reduce residual styrene content. EFFECT: higher operating reliability and ecological safety of polystyrene concrete and structures based thereon. 5 cl, 4 tbl
