FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is composition for preparation of heat-insulating materials which comprises urea-formaldehyde resin, acid hardener, surfactant, chemical detoxicant and water and further comprises filler, and chemical detoxicant includes compounds selected from group consisting of industrial lignosulfonates, mixture of polyvinyl alcohol and hydrochloric acid triethanolamine at weight ratio thereof of 1:(0.1-0.33), sulfite-yeast/ratios of components being as follows, wt %; urea-formaldehyde resin, 45-75; acid hardener, 1.0-2.5; filler, 0.2-10; surfactant, 1.2-2.7; chemical detoxicant, 3.3-5.8; and the water balance. Method makes it possible to prepare ecologically safe heat-insulating material having strength and heat protecting properties, and smaller bulk weight of final products. 4 cl, 8 ex, 2 tbl.
