FIELD: pharmacy technology. SUBSTANCE: glycyrrhizic acid is obtained from the technical licorice dry extract at glycyrrhizic acid content 26-28%. The parent extract is extracted with acetone containing 0.1% of sulfuric acid at room temperature and the obtained glycoside tripotassium salt is converted to monopotassium salt by its recrystallization from an aqueous ethanol twice at ratio = 5:1, vol./vol. followed by treatment of monopotassium salt with 1% sulfuric acid solution at 98-100 C and chloroform at room temperature to obtain glycyrrhizic acid. Obtained finely crystalline precipitate of glycyrrhizic acid contains 87-89% basic substance. Product is used in medicine. EFFECT: improved method of producing. 3 dwg
