FIELD: laying of charging and gas discharge hatches of coke furnaces. SUBSTANCE: wedge-shaped refractory product has side surface with vertical facets 2,3,4,5,6, with one facet being formed as part of cylindrical surface, and two horizontal facets 7, each defined by polygon having acute apex angle of α and arc described from wedge acute angle of a and having radius R equal to radius of hatch opening. Each horizontal facet 7 is made rectangular, with acute angle a of wedge apex equal to 38-52 deg. Axis of symmetry of rectangle has length not exceeding four radii R and angle b opposed to acute angle of wedge apex and equal to 90 deg. Improved configuration of refractory product provides for wedge engagement of refractory products in masonry, increased strength and gas-tight laying of masonry in zone adjacent to charging hatch of coke furnace. EFFECT: increased efficiency, improved strength and reduced production cost by reduced number of grades of refractory products required for laying of masonry in zones close to charging hatch. 3 dwg
