FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, melting of synthetic slag in electric furnaces. SUBSTANCE: method includes lining of bottom and banks of electric furnace with shaped carbon blocks. Then, surface of lining of bottom and banks of furnace is coated uniformly with mixture of silicon-containing and titanium-containing materials with silicon-titanium ratio in mixture ranging within 0.2: 50.0, respectively. Further on, charge is loaded and melted in furnace. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 tbl
