SURVEYING WHEEL Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: entertaining equipment. SUBSTANCE: surveying wheel has support formed as pyramidal girder, wheel with regularly arranged circumferential main girders on drum and transverse binders defining concentric power rings, cabins suspended on peripheral ends of radial girders and provided with passengers' seats and drive for rotating wheel with driving toothed gear, which is engaged with teeth fixed on wheel. Wheel is further provided with auxiliary short radial girders mounted on peripheral parts of wheel between main girders through V-shaped binders extending between intermediate power rings. Apexes of rings are connected with inner ends of auxiliary radial girders and ends are connected with joints of main radial girders and transverse binders of power rings of smaller diameter and symmetrical diagonal binders between adjacent auxiliary and main radial girders. Passengers' seats are arranged in pairs in "back-to-back" position and rows of seats are positioned in plane of rotation of wheel.
