FIELD: metallurgy, namely enhanced technique of casting ingots for making laminate rolled stock. SUBSTANCE: method of casting ingots with directed crystallization for providing homogeneous structure and such texture of ingots that crystallographic plane (100) is parallel with walls of ingot mold comprises steps of initially casting base metal to mold with further after- teeming metal had been heated up to temperature by 50-560 C lower than that of base metal. EFFECT: enhanced quality of ingots cast by such method.
