FIELD: production of steel ingots. SUBSTANCE: method is based on installation of metal core whose height equals that of ingot mold with subsequent pouring of liquid metal in it. Novelty consists in use of core from high-manganese Hadfield steel basing on relation Sc-=(4-60)x10-4xSm, where Sc is core cross-section area, and Sm is cross-section area of ingot mold hollow by average reduced inner diameter. EFFECT: provision of high stability of strength and ductility properties in rolled products from offered ingot castings that is guaranteed by optimal consumption of reducers; their reduced consumption.
