FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has housing 1 along the guides of which slides with gripping jaws move. The slides are mounted on nuts of a planet roller-screw pair with right and left thread actuated by an electric motor. The actuating end of the run screw of the roller-screw pair is positioned inside the additional housing that is set in guides of the major housing for permitting adjusting movements along the axis of the run screw by an adjusting screw with ring groove and nut secured to the additional housing. The adjusting screw is mounted in the major housing and is arrested against axial movements with a locking member the radial hollow of which corresponds the radius of the ring groove of the adjusting screw. The electric motor is connected with a control unit that has circuits for control of load and speed. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 cl, 5 dwg
