ADJUSTABLE NUT WRENCH (UNIVERSAL) Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: manual tools, namely adjustable nut wrenches and tube wrenches, namely for mounting-dismounting threaded joints in different branches of machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: universal nut wrench includes handle, movable jaw, whose working surface is normal relative to axis of handle, worm, lead screw, support, slide for adjusting gap and lever with stationary jaw. Handle has cavity for mounting movable jaw in duct of handle. In other duct of handle parallel to first duct there is partition with opening for placing one journal of worm; its other journal is arranged in insert. Lead screw and worm are mutually joined by means of cylindrical joint and slopes of journals. One journal of lead screw is placed in support mounted in handle. Said support is provided with spring and adjusting screw for providing constant axial contact of worm and lead screw. Lever is jointly connected with handle through axle with possibility of rotation relative to handle by angle equal to 90 degres. Lever has through groove for moving movable jaw. Initial mutually parallel position of jaws is provided by means of limiting shackle embracing handle and spring mounted between lever and handle.
