SEA-GOING GROUND EFFECT CRAFT Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: high-speed transport facilities for carrying passengers and heavy cargoes. SUBSTANCE: wing-shaped hull of ground-effect craft is provided with bottom made in form of two rectangular planes: fore plane and aft plane intersecting at obtuse angle forming under-bottom space together with surface of water and side walls; this under-bottom space is used as secondary air-jet propeller. In nozzle portion of this propeller ends of pipes of primary air-jet and water-air ramjet propellers are mounted; propellers are connected with air-jet engines and air intake pipes mounted in fore portion of hull by means of gas ducts. Each air-jet engine is provided with spherical cap and combustion chamber which is connected with circular clearance of primary ramjet propeller by means of gas duct. Fore and aft elevators are mounted at point of connection of bottom planes and surface of hull top, rudders being mounted on the fore and aft portions of top. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 5 cl, 9 dwg
