FIELD: protection of metal structures from corrosion by the method of cathode protection by external current; applicable for reduction of corrosion rate of car body when stored in metal garage. SUBSTANCE: rate of corrosion is decreased by application of negative potential to car body from external current source and application of positive stabilized potential to garage metal walls. The device for embodiment of the offered method has external current source, for instance, automobile storage battery whose negative pole is connected to car body and positive pole of external current source through successively connected voltage regulator and connecting wire is connected to garage metal wall.
