METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF IMPACT-RISKY SEAMS IN DIFFICULT MINING AND GEOLOGICAL CONDITIONS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: pilot well is initially drilled and area of influence of contact metamorphism of intrusion is determined according to intensity of vibroseismic signals. This area is marked with boundary in seam foot and lateral working is cut from which injection wells are drilled in seam, and ring of relief wells are drilled in intrusion. Ends of relief wells in ring are located at distance of contact of fissure formation zones from explosion of underground charges with which wells in ring are loaded. Water is delivered through injection wells, water inflow rate is measured at other side of intrusion which is then compared with effective standard level and if water inflow rate is below aforesaid level, it is achieved by repeated drilling of relief wells and exploding underground charges in them. After that, injection wells are again drilled at other side of intrusion, seam is wetted through them, and section of seam before intrusion is mined, then intrusion rock is selectively removed and seam is continuously mined along strike.
