FIELD: gas purification. SUBSTANCE: method consists in adsorbing sulfur dioxide with wet freshly precipitated manganese concentrate obtained when treating manganese sulfate solution with ammonia and air at pH 8-8.5 and temperature 40-50 C. This concentrate is used as manganese dioxide pulp which is poured in into reactor provided with bubbler to pass gases being treated through, whereas temperature is maintained within the range 40 to 70 C.
