METHOD OF MAKING HEADS OF BOX WRENCHES WITH STEPPED OUTER SURFACE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: plastic metal working. SUBSTANCE: method of making heads of box wrench comprises steps of cutting off cylindrical blank, deforming it in necessary positions, preliminarily shaping outer stepped surface in second position, transferring blank to third position and at side of its small-diameter end pressing out one cavity of multiface relief; in fourth position resting blank by bottom of its cavity onto supporting cylindrical punch and pressing out another cavity of multiface relief at side of its large-diameter end; starting pressing out process after resting step of outer surface of blank upon die shoulders; going on shaping of outer surface of blank in the same position and determining its dimensions according to given condition. In dependance upon design of ready product time moment of resting step of outer surface of blank upon die shoulders coincides with time moment of contact of supporting punch with bottom of shaped cavity or with time moment of termination of punch embedding into bottom of said cavity.
