FIELD: machine engineering, possibly cold die forging of socket wrenches of high strength steels.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of cutting off blank; chamfering it for cavities to be pressed out; forming stepped outer surface and pressing out cavities. In second shaping position chamfers are formed for both cavities to pressed out. In third position said chamfers are finished. In fourth position at side of less outer diameter shaped final-size cavity is pressed out. At side of larger diameter end square cross section cavity is preliminarily pressed out. Size of square side of cavity consists 1.03 - 1.1 of size of square side of ready part cavity. Square cross section cavity is finished in last shaping position. In description of invention condition is given for pressing out shaped cavity in fourth position. In fourth position pressing out may be realized in floating die when step of outer surface of blank rests upon die shoulders.
EFFECT: possibility for making enhanced quality parts by means of high-strength simplified -design tool.
