FIELD: manufacture of cathode-ray devices and luminescent lamps. SUBSTANCE: aqueous alcoholic solution contains tetraethoxysilicate, zinc nitrate (Zn(NO3)2•6H2O), manganese acetate (Mn(CH3COO)2•4H2O), distilled water ((H2O)) and absolute ethanol ((C2H5OH)). Solution is sprayed in furnace chamber at 800-1300 C and kept at this temperature for 0.25-2 h. Zinc orthosilicate based phosphor has radiation brightness of 1169 KD/sq.m, color coordinates x=0.0224 and y=0.691 at cathode excitation voltage of 12 kV and current density of 7.0 mkA/cu.cm. EFFECT: more efficient preparation process.
