FIELD: medicine; vascular surgery. SUBSTANCE: portal vein is isolated and subjected to bougieurage, followed by segmentary portal vein resection. Next catheter having opening at its middle and plugged peripheral end is introduced through umbilical vein into central and peripheral fragments of portal vein. Catheter is then placed so that its opening would by located somewhat proximally relative to point at which anastomosis is applied. Finally, portal vein is ligated on catheter and anastomosis is applied between portal vein fragments. EFFECT: effective approach in portal vein reconstruction. 1 dwg
