FIELD: surgical ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: invention is supposed to be used in surgical operations on iris of the eye for retaining iris when sutures are placed. Retainer contains casing with two-step cylinder having two axial openings separated with partition and two through radial openings before and after partition. Executive device is attached to head part of cylinder and contains head constructed as hemispherical chamber. Tail part of cylinder encloses nipple for connecting vacuum source. To provide connection of executive device to vacuum source and letting vacuum system to air, slide-valve tube is installed on casing for axial movement. EFFECT: improved design. 3 dwg
