METHOD FOR IRIS IMMOBILIZATION IN CASE OF ITS GIANT RUPTURES Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: one should perform corneal paracentesis in area of iris fixation. Hollow needle is introduced to capture iris and withdraw the needle through limbus. Ligature should be applied into the needle. One should withdraw the needle from the eye through the same paracentesis. At 0.1 mm against the needle's puncture out one should perform the second puncture in through conjunctiva and limbus to withdraw it through the same paracentesis. On should apply the end of that ligature into needle's eye which was previously applied through anterior chamber and withdrawn through paracentesis to remove the needle from patient's eye. Both ends of ligature should be tightened and bound. The method enables to remove subtotal iridodialysis without lenticular damage and fix any iris ruptures without any large incisions.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of immobilization.
