FIELD: catalyst production. SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing and combined disintegration of copper oxide and binder powders. As binder, X-ray-amorphous aluminium oxide used in amount 5-10 wt %. Catalyst is further extruded in the form of rings, shanks, and cellular blocks. According to invention, prior to be extruded, catalyst mass is supplemented with lanthanum compound in amount 2 wt % (as lanthanum oxide) and/or magnesium compound in amount 3 wt % (as magnesium oxide) based on aluminium oxide. Thus obtained catalysts find use for treating industrial gas releases containing partially burned hydrocarbons, other organics, and carbon monoxide, for example, for ozone-catalytic purification.
