FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves tilling soil along advancement line, with tillage width being equal to width of transverse working tool; tilling soil along edges of tilled band; cutting longitudinal furrows in mid portion of band, with furrows being further used as reversal point and area of longitudinal motion of sections at the end of each transverse pass; moving working tools forward relative to tractor for width equal to width of transverse tillage sections; reducing longitudinal motion speed to zero, with tractor continuously traveling along field. Apparatus has wheel-machine motion direction sensor, which is kinematically connected through amplifier with engine control mechanism and rotation radius sensor formed as telescopic boom with retainer center. Rotation radius sensor is mounted on shaft of wheel-machine motion direction sensor. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 3 cl, 3 dwg
