SOWING METHOD AND APPARATUS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: agriculture and agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves wide-row sowing of seeds by making compacted bed in soil; laying seeds; covering bed with soil, compacting by compaction rolls and simultaneously shifting top layer of soil aside to form ridges. Upon laying of seeds, soil bed is laterally shifted and pressed together with seeds into bed bottom. Soil ridges are formed by shifting top layer, which had been preliminarily moved aside, onto bed with seeds and compacting soil. Apparatus has sowing sections with skid-type share and ripper-ridge former, soil deformer positioned behind share, additional ridge former positioned behind soil deformer in front of compaction roll. Ridge former has moldboards with clearance along share axis. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of soil. 7 cl, 9 dwg
