FIELD: production of abrasive tools for finishing hard-to-work materials. SUBSTANCE: proposed method involves preparation of mixture composed of ceramic powder materials and moulding articles by static and dynamic loading the powder mixture by shock wave with subsequent thermal treatment. Moulding is accomplished in two stages. First 35 to 40 per cent of total powder mass is poured into the lower part of the mould, then a separator consisting of three 1.5 to 2.5-mm thick plates is laid down and, as the second stage of moulding, the upper part of the mould is filled with the remaining 60 to 65 per cent of the powder mixture. Thermal treatment of the lower moulding is carried out at a temperature of 1870 to 1880 C. EFFECT: improved quality of abrasive tools and wider field of their employments. 2 dwg, 3 tbl
