SOLAR-MECHANICAL ENERGY CONVERTER Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: thermal-to-mechanical energy conversion in agriculture, space engineering, and other industries. SUBSTANCE: converter has fixed baseplate mounting axle of revolution. Converter rotor is spider with vertical posts and horizontal arms. The latter carry unbalancing weights which are hollow and mounted for axial displacement along arms. Fixed on one of unbalancing weights is toothed rack engageable with gear which comes in mesh with large-diameter gear. Gears are mounted for rotation on shafts set on pivots coupled with post. Gear is engageable with second toothed rack fixed on working thermal element made of metal possessing transformation induced plasticity. Unbalancing weight mounted on second arm is coupled via spring with rigid stop made on arm end. Unbalancing weights 6 are interconnected by means of link passed through hole in post. Arm end carries rod hinged thereon for rotation. Rod is coupled through cable and pulley with unbalancing weight. Reflector mounted on post fixed on baseplate is placed in front of spider in parallel to the latter and south-oriented. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities. 3 cl, 3 dwg
