FIELD: study of materials. SUBSTANCE: counter-sample is manufactured from pressed material with length equal to length of article. Counter sample is made of two parts having length C and b for modelling of two-side pressing. During forward run sample and countersample are brought to contact immediately over entire length. Parts of countersample are set at start of forward run at distance S from each other which is found from relationship , where l1 is length of article; l2 is length of billet. Parts of countersample are moved to touch with rates equal to speeds of pressing on both sides. Lengths C and b of countersample are determined from relationship C/b= l3/l4, where l3 and l4 are lengths of paths of pressing for corresponding parts of countersample. At end of backward run countersample is brought out of contact with sample and tribological parameters are determined and used to evaluate wear resistance of material. EFFECT: increased authenticity of method.
