FIELD: measurement technology, metering of volumetric share of free gas and density of clean oil without gas directly in flow of oil at centers of metering of commercial oil. SUBSTANCE: method consists in irradiation of gas and liquid flow by narrow and by at least one wide beam of ionizing radiation, in registration of direct and scattered radiations passed through tested medium, in formation of signals corresponding to them in the form of discrete readings and grouping of readings into samples of specified volume. By sample corresponding to scattered radiation density of gas and liquid mixture is determined. Values of autocorrelation function are found by samples corresponding to direct radiation. These samples are grouped from starting sequence of readings by sliding over it by window of fixed width shifting window by one reading for each sample. Then additional sequence of readings is formed by condition that values of autocorrelation function of all samples which are included into reading do not exceed threshold value and density of liquid is found by this sequence.
