FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: slide-type valve has mounting frame, movable and immovable refractory plates provided with openings and biased one relative to another by adjustable pressure units, which are arranged in pairs at both sides of longitudinal axis of movable plate. Supporting rollers are mounted on plates for engagement with carriage guides. Guides are spaced one from another by distance sufficient for exit of guides from supporting rollers. At least two shafts are fixed on one of outer sides of frame in parallel with direction of motion of carriage. Shafts allow carriage to turn in the direction perpendicular to working surfaces of refractory plates. Brackets are fixed on carriage, with number of brackets corresponding to that of shafts. Free ends of brackets are provided with openings axially aligned with shafts. Each bracket is fixed on carriage in projection at a distance from guide exit edge exceeding space between entrance end of shaft and axis of related roller. EFFECT: increased convenience in maintenance of valve, since ladle longitudinal axis is in vertical position in parallel with tilter during maintenance. 2 dwg
