FIELD: foundry. SUBSTANCE: slide gate includes mounting plate, frame with immobile refractory plate and carriage with mobile refractory plate. Refractory plates are held down with the aid of spring units placed in cross-pieces. Cross-pieces are installed in guiding grooves of side walls of frame and have width equal to that of guiding groove. Face surfaces of cross-pieces interact with face surfaces of groove. Spring units contact bottom of space of cross- piece with one end and rest with the other end. Each cross-piece carries pair of bearing rollers on which carriage is mounted by means of guide. Face surfaces of cross-pieces are cylindrical. All key structural members of slide gate are ward off together with frame to ensure free access to them during maintenance. In addition falling of molten metal on to metal units of slide gate in case of burning-through of foundry ladle is prevented and uniform distribution of load between spring units is provided.
