FIELD: working and preservation of wood and similar materials in any branches of national economy. SUBSTANCE: the device is furnished with a pressurizing chamber aligned with covers 3 and 4. The chamber is made in the form of casing 1 and cylindrical diaphragm 2 concentrically arranged in it. Diaphragm 2 is attached to the ends of casing 1 with formation of a sealed annular cavity. The chamber has means 9 for connection of the annular cavity to the positive pressure source, and means 10 for removal of excessive impregnant from the diaphragm cavity. Dry timber blank is placed in the chamber, and liquid impregnant is pressed through the blank from one end to the other along the wood grains, and positive pressure and vacuum are built up at the same time on the opposite ends of the blank. Then the blank is subjected to pressurizing on its outer lateral surface at a supply of compressed air to the cavity between diaphragm 2 and casing 1. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 3 cl, 1 dwg
