PNEUMATIC DEVICE MEASURING THICKNESS OF POLYMER FILM Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: measurement technology, technological line of production of polymer films in the capacity of pickup of outline of automatic control of thickness of produced film. SUBSTANCE: pneumatic device measuring thickness of polymer film includes two pneumatic chambers placed in opposition and having conduits to feed air into them. Perforated measurement surfaces of chambers face each other. One of them is immobile. Computation unit determining thickness differs by incorporation of two flowmeters of air fed into pneumatic chambers and two excessive pressure transducers positioned inside pneumatic chambers connected to computation. One of pneumatic chambers is mounted immobile. Absence of moving parts in mix of measuring device and rigid attachment of pneumatic chambers considerably enhances possibility of operation in shops. Information generated by device makes it possible to keep thickness of produced film invariable timely changing rotational speed of drawing rolls of extrusion machine.
