FIELD: electric engineering, in particular, devices for shock absorbing switching lamps, heaters of cathodes of vacuum tubes, such as cathode-ray tubes, generator and amplifying tubes of transmitters. SUBSTANCE: device has thyristor gate which is connected in series to load (filament), and control unit, which has time-interval generator and frequency divider which has pulse counter, commutator, pulse rate doubling circuit and initial setting circuit. When device is switched on, current which runs through load is increased gradually from some initial value to nominal one which depends on resistance of filament due to software control of number of current pulses which run through thyristor gate. This results in elimination of filament overload during turn-on period. EFFECT: increased service life of tube. 2 dwg
