METHOD FOR PERFORMING ANTERIOR RESECTION OF THE RECTUM Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves performing anterior resection without opening intestine lumen. Elastic plastic ring having capron thread attached to it is placed between the rectum and sigmoid intestine stumps. Stitches are put in over the posterior and later on over the anterior lip of the anastomosis placing the knots on the same side with the intestine lumen. Rectal vault is dissected through a window in the region of the anterior lip and probe is brought through the rectum lumen with anastomosis suture ligatures and the capron thread attached to it. The ligatures are brought outside the anal canal and sigmoid intestine vault is cut off through the window in anastomosis. The window is closed and the anastomosis is invaginated into the rectum lumen up to 15-20 mm beyond the threads brought out, attaching them to skin. The ring is removed from the intestine lumen 2-3 weeks later. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of diagnosis. 4 dwg
