FIELD: cutting of food product. SUBSTANCE: cutter has body with head carrying annular blade with rotational drive, elongate handle cooperating with head and thumb rest with elongate supporting surface with longitudinal axis positioned at an acute angle to handle longitudinal axis. Handle has cross section other than round. Blade body, handle and thumb rest are made detachable. Cutter has tubular member for interconnecting head and handle. Set of standard parts allows modular drive cutter with rotating annular blade to be assembled. Set has handles of different diameter for hands of different size, a variety of heads for securing blade to body and variety of bodies with detachable blades, parts for attaching any of handles to any of heads and thumb rest of user. Elongated handle has two end portions, mid portion between end portions and longitudinal arced surface junctions positioned between adjacent end and mid portions. Method involves selecting cutter handle size by measuring user's hand sizes; multiplying obtained values; determining, in accordance with available basic data, optimum value approximating obtained value.
