FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: oxygen is fed into arc steel- smelting furnace through arc-shaped water-cooled lance installed in side wall of furnace. Angle of slope of head axis of blowing lance relative to horizontal and oxygen feed rate are varied in the ranges 0-90 deg and 100-3500 cu.m/h in fusion period; 80-70 deg. and 1500- 4000 cu.m/h in the beginning of oxidation period; and 70-60 deg. and 750-2000 cu.m/h after commencement of intense boiling of fusion until blowing is terminated. EFFECT: increased productivity and reduced power consumption and usage of refractories. 1 tbl, 1 ex
