FIELD: cleaning waste gases of metallurgical units from dust containing particles of incomplete combustion of petroleum products in liquid phase and soot; cleaning waste gases in melting copper in anode furnace. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in entrapping dust by filter elements forming filtering dust layer at periodic automatic regeneration. At the end of oxidation period, filter elements are subjected to intensive regeneration and pressure differential equal to 2500 to 300 Pa is set, after which even underlying layer of dust is formed on filter element for filtration of waste gas through this layer in the course of reduction of metal; upon completion of reduction of metal, filter is shifted to main mode of regeneration. EFFECT: increased service life of filter elements and filter as a whole; reduction of emission of toxic agents into atmosphere with no additional and capital outlays.
