FIELD: hydraulic engineering; river channel control at water intake. SUBSTANCE: method involves straightening of channel line 1 and maintenance of its stability in section downstream and upstream of inlet 3 in headrace canals 4 along river flow by installing erosion-proof choke dikes 2, protection of headrace canals from silting by making channel cuttings 7, and working of bed blankets followed by their aggravation in bank soil islands 13 and dump to river stream; channel line 1 is straightened and river flow is maintained stable downstream of inlets 3 in headrace canal along river flow in section up to top of next concave river bank along river flow where headrace canal inlets are located; channel slits 7 are made opposite headrace canal inlets 3; blanket aggravation in bank soil islands 13 during their working in headrace canals is made by large fractions and only small fractions are dumped in river; they are dumped in region of next downstream concave bank where inlets to headrace canals are located. In addition, choke dikes 2 have stepped end surface and slits 7 are cleaned of sediments by dipping them into compressed river stream. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 3 cl, 5 dwg
