FIELD: optical instrument engineering. SUBSTANCE: instrument operation is based on the principle of conversion of the angle of rotation of the plane of radiation polarization by an optically active substance to pulse-length modulation of an electric signal and measurement of the time position of the maximum of the preliminarily differentiated signal inside the modulation period, where the modulating signals at the beginning of conversion have a triangular shape. The photoelectric polarimeter uses illuminator 1, polarizer 2, faraday modulator 3 with power amplifier 4, lens holder 5, analyzer 6, photodetector 7 with an amplifier made in the form of analog differentiator 8, and comparator 9 series-connected to it, the comparator input is connected to the input of synchronous detector 10; the electric circuit of photodetector 7 uses also analog-to-digital converter 11, clock pulse generator 12 and integrator 13 placed between modulator power amplifier 4 and clock pulse generator 12, whose output is connected to the control input of analog-to- digital convertor 11. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 2 cl, 2 dwg
