FIELD: computer engineering; coding data blocks. SUBSTANCE: in coding data blocks, the latter having, for example, m data bits are converted into blocks of n bit channels (n > m). Blocks of thus obtained data bits should satisfy, for example, condition of (d, k)-constraints. Number of sequential zeroes in (d,k)-constrained trains is limited by d minimum and k maximum of zeroes placed between each pair of sequential ones. According to invention, separation block is inserted between each block containing n data bits. If format is not assigned by (d,k)-constraints, bit separation is chosen so that low-frequency spectrum and, particularly, DC current unbalance were as low as possible. EFFECT: reduced low-frequency spectrum and DC current unbalance. 2 cl, 8 dwg
