FIELD: information storage. SUBSTANCE: encoded image that contains subsequent encoded picture lines is stored to continuous storage track of information carrier. Reading device has units that reads track by means of reading head in order to read encoded picture lines that have been stored to track. Reading device also has units for movement of reading head to part of track of given address with predetermined precision of search. Encoded picture lines are stored together with line number and line synchronization information. Line number refers to number in sequence of corresponding line of encoded picture. Line synchronization information refers to start of corresponding image line. In addition part of track contains addresses for given amount of encoded lines of encoded picture. They are used for reference to positions where corresponding image lines have been stored. device has units for search of encoded picture line by means of addresses that have been read from part of storage track.
