METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING PATHOLOGIC KYPHOSIS CASE OF SPINAL COLUMN IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: medicine; roentgenology; treatment of children affected with osteochondropathy of heavily deformed bodies of vertebrae. SUBSTANCE: inventive novelty of proposed method resides in that in patient's spinal column roentgenogram taken in side projection, in position of its maximum extension, lines are drawn through point corresponding to apex of upper articular process and point corresponding to base of same articular process. Both points lie on arc formed by upper and lower vertebrae delimitating kyphosis arc. Angle formed by intersection of these lines is open upwards and is measured in degrees. When this angle is greater than 5 deg., pathologic kyphosis case is diagnosed. EFFECT: simplified approach to treatment of dangerous pathology in children. 1 dwg
